The Call of God
I wanted to thank the elders for covering for me for the last two weeks as I got to visit some family in Iowa and then was able to visit my brother in Seattle as he is recovering from his heart transplant. It was a wonderful time, and I thank you for making that possible.

If you would, please take a copy of God’s holy Word in your hands. You’ll find pew Bibles in the pockets in the pews in front of you if you don’t have a Bible with you. Turn with me to Paul’s letter to Philemon, just before Hebrews, right after Titus, on page 1000 in the church Bibles. Before we read it together, let’s go to God in prayer. Let’s pray together.
Well here we are, it’s summer! What a blessing to gather today this first Sunday in June, and we really look forward to celebrating the Lord’s Supper together after three months of not being able to. It was particularly odd to have a sermon in that time about the institution of the Lord’s Supper, and to not celebrate it at the same time. So I hope you can remember back that far and that message is still in your hearts and minds as we approach the table today.
